Dr. Peñalver Bernabé's mentor and collaborator, Dr. Pauline Maki, discussed her very important study looking at how menopause influences cognitive changes in a population of mostly women of color with and without HIV with UIC Today. She found that there was no difference in the cognitive decline in these two populations but observed cognitive decline during menopause nonetheless.
